Advanced Components: Research Guides Accessibility Lessons Series

Wednesday, 12/10, 3:00 pm-3:50 pm

Please join the Research Guides Team for our sixth accessibility lesson of the fall 2025 semester. During this workshop, we’ll focus on the responsible use of tables, tabbed boxes, and custom widgets in Research Guides. We emphasize using these advanced components only when necessary, providing best practices for accessibility with detailed instructions on accessible table features, avoiding tables for visual layout, and making your tabbed boxes and custom widgets accessible. If you can’t make it to this session, please register anyway and we’ll send you the recording afterwards! Questions? Reach out to resguidesteam@umich.edu.

The URL for this online session will be included in the confirmation message you receive 5-10 minutes after you register, as well as in an automatic reminder message sent two days prior to the session.

This workshop is part of a series focused on helping Research Guide owners and editor make sure their published Research Guides meet expectations for accessibility. This 12-minute introductory video will give you an understanding of the importance and scope of this effort.

You’ll find a listing of all workshops in the series here.
