Clay Magnet Workshop

Thursday, 5/21, 2:00 pm-3:00 pm

Join the Art Alliance to create the fridge magnet of your dreams! This workshop is a hybrid event where participants will learn the basics of ceramics and clay crafting. Then, with supplies provided, they will create their very own clay magnet using air-dry clay!

No experience is required, total beginners are welcome. Please note that air dry clay needs 2-3 days to dry completely, so this hour-long workshop will be focused on molding the clay followed by providing materials and instructions on how to attach the magnets after the clay is completely dry. We will arrange a location on-site for in-person participants to let their clay dry so that they can later collect them, attach magnets, and take them home.

As this is a hybrid event, there are alternate instructions for those who want to participate online:

In order to make this an equitable hybrid experience, we have put together an

Offsite Supply Request Form” with the URL: https://forms.gle/F28tPna4y2a49hr37

This Offsite Supply Request Form will remain open until 4/15/26 for you to request the supplies kit to be sent to your office, if you work onsite, or your home if you work from home. We’re sending this form out early so that we have an appropriate amount of time to order and receive the supplies, individually package them, and ship them out to you.

We ask that you do your best to ensure you will be able to attend before submitting your order request. If you realize closer to the date that you are unable to attend, just let us know!

For those who intend to be in-person, please register as normal through this page. Drop-in is okay but we cannot guarantee extra supplies will be available!

Light refreshments will be provided for those participating in-person.

Please fill out the Accommodation Request Form URL: https://forms.gle/MobhM7sj6a6KjGbH9                                                 if you need accommodations for this event, including dietary restriction.

This Art Alliance event is made possible thanks to a grant from the Research and Creative Projects Committee (RCPC).

The URL for this session will be included in the confirmation message you receive 5-10 minutes after you register, as well as in an automatic reminder message sent two days prior to the session.
