Fire Extinguisher Training

Tuesday, 7/21, 9:30 am-11:00 am
In a 90-minute in-person workshop presented by Fire Safety Specialists from U-M Environment, Health, and Safety – library employees will partake in a basic fire extinguisher training, which will include both a Powerpoint presentation and a hands-on portion.  The presentation will start in Shapiro Library Learning Lab 1 – Room 4059; and will move outside for hands-on portion. 
By the end of this training session, attendees will:
    • Gain familiarity with use of fire extinguishers – including the types of extinguishers, safe use of an extinguisher, limitations of extinguishers, and guidelines when confronted with a fire. 
    • Have a hands-on opportunity to use a fire extinguisher.

This training supports the Library’s programmatic safety learning outcomes related to life safety, fire safety, and fire extinguishers.
