Strategies for Finding Research Funding

Thursday, 10/2, 12:00 pm-1:00 pm

Don’t wait. Find your funding now. If you are currently enrolled in a graduate program, now is the time to learn how to find research funding, because finding funding now will make finding funding easier for you in the future. In this workshop, you will learn about:

•    Support for research funding available at the U-M, including at the U-M Library, Office of Research and Sponsored Projects, and Foundation Relations

•    Using the Pivot database for identifying funding opportunities

•    Using the Foundation Directory database for finding foundations to target

At the end of the workshop, you will have learned how to construct search strategies in Pivot and Foundation Directory, how to save search results in Pivot, and how to set up email alerts in Pivot, and you will be armed with strategies and knowledge to discover funding available to you.

Presented by: Paul Barrow, Foundations & Grants Librarian and Paul Grochowski, Engineering Librarian
