Fostering Authentic Connection in the AI Era

Tuesday, 8/18, 2:00 pm-2:50 pm

Let’s be honest, we’ve all seen the formulaic discussion post “write 500 words and reply to two classmates.” In the era of generative AI, these rigid, transactional prompts are easily automated by AI and often result in students just “phoning it in.”
While AI can instantly synthesize text, it cannot replicate genuine human curiosity, shared lived experiences, or real student connection.
To help you reclaim the human element in your courses, the College of LSA is hosting a workshop led by YellowDig, a discussion tool that uses student generated prompts instead of instructor generated prompts. This will be a fast-paced, 45-minute workshop designed to transform your online spaces into vibrant, student-led learning networks.
