Creating Accessible Word and Google Documents in the Library

In this session, we will cover how to create accessible documents using both Microsoft Word and Google Docs. Topics include:

  • Using proper heading styles for structure and navigation
  • Creating accessible lists and tables
  • Choosing appropriate font styles, cases, line spacing, and text alignment
  • Writing in clear, inclusive, and accessible language
  • Formatting link text for accessibility
  • Adding alternative text to images

We will also introduce the Grackle extension for Google Docs, a helpful tool that scans your document for accessibility issues and guides you through fixing them.
