Join us for a hands-on workshop exploring the fascinating world of flexagons—folded paper creations that can be flipped and flexed to reveal surprising hidden designs.

Similar to Jacob’s Ladder toys, flexagons are flat, book-like paper objects that unfold, or “flex,” to reveal multiple hidden faces. Participants will learn how flexagons work through playful paper-folding, experiment with patterns and color, and make a couple of their own to take home. We’ll explore how flexagons can be created from simple paper forms, including patterns of squares or equilateral triangles, and how specifically cut and folded strips or sheets of paper become layered, overlapping structures. With a pinch of the corners and a push from the center, hidden layers unfurl to become the outer face—creating a delightful, looping paper object.
