What is Remote Sensing? The discipline of remote sensing concerns processing and analysis of any imagery obtained from satellites, drones, or other airborne sensors. Remote sensing tools and best practices can be used to investigate land use change, check agricultural crop yields, monitor wildfires, and more. This session will introduce basic concepts used in the discipline of remote sensing such as image collection and interpretation, spectral signatures, and post-processing methods such as false color composites. No prior experience is required.
