Cool Toys Conversations: The Practice of GenAI

Tuesday, 2/27, 12:00 pm-1:00 pm

The Cool Toys Conversations hosts open casual conversations via Zoom on emerging technologies and trends, and their potential impacts on (and opportunities/risks for) academic, clinical, and personal work/life, from research to office to home. Our motto is: Who is lifted up? Who is left out? Our focus this year is to examine the presence, absence, or influence of the human element in artificial intelligence and related technologies.

The topic for this meeting is “The Practice of GenAI: Tools & Uses, Promptcraft, and Creation.” Co-hosts are Nicole Rhoads and PF Anderson. Discussion will touch on such topics as Generative AI tools on and off campus; usage of these tools by students, staff, faculty, healthcare, and creatives; AI promptcraft tips, tricks, rubrics, examples; AI tools for creating from music to art to voice actors, including attitudes, ethics, and legalities. This is a fast-paced interactive discussion for our UofM community, friends, and allies.

For updates & conversation with the Cool Toys Conversation community, please join the email group CoolToysConversations in M-Community or send a request to: <cooltoysconversations-requests@umich.edu>.
