Getting Started with U-M Maizey: Do you want an around-the-clock assistant for your data, such as Canvas courses or cloud files? It’s possible with U-M’s Maizey GenAI tool! In this workshop, the benefits of Maizey will be explained- ranging from indexing a Canvas course to personal Google Drive or Dropbox files. This workshop will demonstrate a step-by-step process of setting up a Maizey project, as well as offer hands-on opportunities.

Level: Beginner/ Intermediate

Recommended Prerequisite: Generative AI Basics

  • What is Maizey?
    • Demo of Maizey
    • When/why to use Maizey vs U-M GPT
    • Privacy
    • What sources Maizey can read
  • How to set it up and index the content (Maizey demo and Maizey Canvas Connector)
    • Maizey settings- System prompts and temperature
